Co-directed with Dr. Meghna Singh, In the Wake is a hybrid feature currently in production.
A woman with amnesia, rescued from the unforgiving Mozambican sea, awakens on a rusted cargo ship bound for Cape Town. Her fractured memories entwine with South Africa's troubled past as she navigates a journey of self-discovery and historical reckoning.
As she recovers in the ship's sterile confines, she experiences haunting visions of time collapsing, blurring the lines between past, present and future. The multinational crew, diverse in their backgrounds and experiences, becomes a microcosm of South Africa's past - a land wrestling with the enduring legacies of colonialism and the relentless march of extractive capitalism. Each stop at South Africa's bustling container ports unveils a stark portrait of the nations soul.

"In the Wake" is a haunting visual poem, a journey through the underbelly of history and the depths of the human spirit. Stunning visuals capture the stark beauty of the sea, the grit of the port cities, and the intimate connections forged aboard the ship. It weaves a powerful narrative of personal struggle, historical reckoning, and social critique, forcing us to confront an unsettling question: In the absence of collective memory, what are the chances of genuine reconciliation and a just future?
